Jupiter Energy Limited (ASX: JPR) is an Australian listed oil exploration company that is in the process of migrating to the role of a midsized producer. The Company owns 100% of a permit in the Mangistau Basin, SW Kazakhstan. The Company recently drilled its first new well which was a discovery. It is currently working to bring that well onto production. Export revenues are expected from early in 2H 2010. Further drilling is also planned for 2H 2010. JPR has offices in Almaty and Aktau in Kazakhstan and its corporate headquarters is located in Perth, Australia.

Block 31
Jupiter Energy Limited owns 100% an exploration permit (Block 31) located in the Mangistau Basin in South West Kazakhstan. The permit covers an of 127 sq km and is located on trend with three existing producing oil fields that have potential reserves in excess of 21-56 million barrels of oil (mmbbls). The prospective permit is located within the Zhetybai-Uzen step, adjacent to the Akkar North and North West Zhetybai oilfields. Government records indicate that there has already been production of approximately 6 billion barrels of oil within this region. The shooting of 3D seismic on the western section of the permit was completed in early 2009 and the Company successfully re entered an old 1969 well located on the permit in late 2009. The Company is currently drilling a new well on the permit (J-50) and expects to reach the primary target in the Mid Triassic during March 2010. Reasons for Success
JPR believes it has the following key elements that will ensure it becomes an oil producer during 2010 in one of the most prospective oil producing countries in the world:
- An experienced and well connected board and management
- A proven local team with access to skilled Kazakh human resources/companies
- 100% ownership of an excellent piece of exploration acreage in the oil rich Mangistau Basin, SW Kazakhstan
- A range of targets identified through the results of a 3D seismic program shot over 95 sq kms of the permit
- Success with the re entry of a proven 1969 discovery well (NWZ 2). Production testing will commence in the first half of 2010.
- The drilling of a new well (J-50), with the results of this well expected during March 2010
- The proven ability to transact in Kazakhstan
- Access to the export oil market – thereby allowing the Company to monetise oil discoveries at the best possible prices

Management
Geoff Gander
Executive Chairman
Mr Gander graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1984 where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. He has been involved in the listing and running of public companies since 1994. Mr Gander was appointed as a Director of Jupiter Energy Limited on 27 January 2005 and is currently responsible for Group Corporate Development, Group Investor Relations and he also works closely with JPR's Almaty based Director Erkin Svanbayev in an operational capacity in Kazakhstan. In addition to his Executive Chairman role at Jupiter Energy Limited (JPR), Geoff is also a Non Executive Director of the ASX listed Equatorial Coal Limited (EQX).
David Thorpe
Managing Director
David is a graduate of both the University of Western Australia and the University of New South Wales where he completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Geology) and Master of Engineering Science (Petroleum Engineering), respectively. He has worked in field and office based positions for a number of international and Australian petroleum exploration and production companies in geoscience, operations and engineering roles. Prior to joining Jupiter Energy, David was most recently working in Australia for BHP Billiton and previously Woodside.
Erkin Svanbayev
Executive Director
Erkin is a Kazakh educated Engineer with an oil and gas background in Kazakhstan and extensive upstream and downstream experience. He is an experienced oil trader, operating predominantly in the Mangistau Basin and shipping oil out through the port city of Aktau. Erkin assists Jupiter Energy in both identifying oil projects is Kazakhstan as well as acting as the key contact for the Company in our Almaty office.
Andrew Childs
Non-Executive Director
Andrew is the Managing Director of Petroleum Ventures Pty Ltd, Chairman of Australian Oil Company Limited (AOC), and also sits on the Boards of Orion Energy Pty Limited, Grove Energy Limited, Audax Resources Limited (ADX), Bombora Energy Limited and Stratic Energy Corporation. Andrew graduated from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Zoology. He gained technical experience with Petroz NL as a Geoscientist and later commercial experience as the Commercial Assistant to the Managing Director. Andrew is a member of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.
Scott Mison
Company Secretary
Mr Mison holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Accounting and Business Law, is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Chartered Secretaries Australia. Mr Mison was until recently an Associate Director of Capital Investment Partners Pty Ltd, a corporate advisory firm which delivers a comprehensive range of investment banking services including strategic capital raising, merger and acquisition and financial advisory services, primarily to small-cap emerging listed companies.
