Roper River Iron Ore Project
Batavia has an option until 29 July 2010 to acquire this potentially large Iron Ore Project.
The Project area occupies a dominant position in the Roper River Field and is centred approximately 120km east of Mataranka and 475km south east of Darwin in the Northern Territory (see Figure 1).
The Project comprises three granted Exploration Licences, one Exploration Licence Application and one Mineral Lease Application. The Exploration Licences are contiguous and occupy a total area of 3,444km2.
The western EL’s 24101 and 24102 contain well known iron ore prospects. The easternmost tenement, EL 26412, is adjoined by the Roper Bar Iron Ore Project, a Joint Venture between Western Desert Resources (“WDR”) and Itochu, to the east and south, and by WDR’s Mountain Creek Project to the north.

Gullewa
Batavia sold the Gullewa Project to ATW in 2008. As part of the sale ATW have issued Batavia 4 million shares which are still held.
ATW are required to pay a further AUD$7,000,000 as follows:
1. AUD$1,500,000 on 31 July 2010.
2. AUD$1,500,000 on 31 January 2011.
3. AUD$4,000,000 on 31 July 2011.

Batavia owns 27.5 million shares. MEY is involved in the Marenica Uranium Project in Namibia.

Management
Terence Smith
Chairman
Mr Smith was one of the founding partner of Smith Coffey Group which provided taxation, accounting and financial advice to clients in Perth for over 34 years prior to his retirement. He has a wide range of business skills in the areas of financial planning and corporate management. Mr Smith holds a number of directorships in a number of companies in the wine industry.
John W Barr
Non-Executive Director
Mr John W Barr qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981 and over the last 25 years has obtained considerable experience in the natural resources sector.
Mr Barr has managed private and public companies, established a number of successful start-up companies, dealt with capital restructures, fund raisings, mergers, acquisitions and floats in Australia and internationally. He has acted as an executive director of companies operating in Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam and South Africa.
Mr Barr is also Chairman of Cavendish Corporation Limited and TNG Limited.
Neil Biddle
Non-Executive Director
Mr Neil Biddle is a geologist with over 20 years experience in precious and base metal exploration.
He has extensive corporate experience as a senior executive of listed companies. He is a Director of TNG Limited and West Australian Metals Limited.
Michael Bowen
Non-Executive Director
Mr Michael Bowen graduated from the University of Western Australia with Bachelors of Law, Jurisprudence and Commerce. He has been admitted as barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and is a Certified Practising Accountant.
Mr Bowen is a partner of the law firm Hardy Bowen, practising primarily corporate, commercial and securities law with an emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, capital raisings and resources. He also has experience in merchant banking and accounting and is a director of another listed Australian company.
Greg Bittar
Interim CEO
Greg joined Batavia as interim CEO in March 2010 to oversee the development and implementation of its iron ore development strategy in the Northern Territory. Greg has more than 15 years experience in finance and capital markets, the last 10 years spent in investment banking roles with Morgan Stanley in London, Melbourne and Sydney where he gained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets.
During this time, Greg played a key advisory role in a number of high profile industrial and mining transactions, including more recently in the nickel sulphide, coal and iron ore sectors.
Greg graduated from the University of Sydney with Bachelors of Economics and Law and also MSc (Finance) from London Business School. Greg is also a Director of KU Children’s Services and Austofix Limited.
